Our Ideas For Our Music Video!

This is just a tiny extract of the whole of our music video, and something that we hope will be very effective.

First Idea is that we took inspiration from American high schools by throwing leaflets over the banisters. this way everyone who wants to come can scramble and run around to get one. We thought this would just be a much better way of telling people than just maybe one leaflet around school also it looks much more effective.

So this is just a practice piece, we will further it much more by maybe combining the media and film studies classes so there will be about 50 of us running around after these leaflets. This will make it look like its on a much higher scale as if everyone is interested in this party.

Now the camera angles we are hoping to use for this short piece would be someone standing around with everyone else looking up as all the leaflets are thrown down, this is what we think will give a brief insight into what everyone whos catching the leaflets can see, like a quick look through their eyes.

The next angle we would want to use would be the first into this short clip and it would show liam holding the leaflets and we will zoom in on the one on the top of the pile, then we will show him throwing all of them off of the side of the banister. This will show them all flowing down, this will also capture everyone looking up and catching their leaflets from this angle looking down at them all, we can capture all of their facial expressions.

Also another angle we might do would be to capture the action from the other side of the atrium but up high on another banister to show a wide angled view of the whole event happening.

Our Progress!

This is the beginning aspect to our music video.

In our music video we wanted to relate back to the lyrics of the song, so we will take an aspect from the songs original music video as we will show texts and emails highlighting the lyrics of the song. This shows us sort of like the importance of this party as it is all the they can talk about, also as there sneakily messaging each other shows that it is sort of exclusive.

THE IMAGE

The concept is that we want to open up the music video by showing the students in school before the whole party theme begins. This adds to hype of the party as all of these people are anticipating this one party. We wanted to show everyone in school as it shows that they are all still youngsters, but it then goes on to show these youngsters sort of double life, how there all quiet in school but then they are all really talented dancers and its sort of like an insight in to their lives.

We will further our ideas more, but for now once we come back after the christmas break all of us in the group will make a story board for our music video and then begin to film the first scene to our music video. We hope to film our media class in the IT suite and in a normal media classroom, whilst they text and email each other then we will film the banister scene were we will drop the leaflets on our fellow media studies and film studies students.

Our Target Audience!

Our target audience is people aged 15-25 we're focusing on the young people. The people who still go out clubbing and still love dancing around to dance anthems and who are generally still students at school college and university. There Sociographic profile would be E because they are students but they are most important because they have good income which they can spend on whatever they want so really there Sociographic profile would b A-C. Theres is no specific gender its a music video for everyone. The viewers of the music video would have to be bubbly characters who are quite outgoing and just generally happy people who are care free and feel comfortable dancing to songs.

We are aiming at young people and we feel its probably the most easiest in the sense that young people are generally the main users of technology music videos, websites, magazines, they also watch alot of TV which means adverts are seen alot by them. The age group we're aiming at will be able to see our music video for e.g. promoted as an advert or on actual music channels.

Also we know that they will enjoy the song we have choosen seeing as its already really sucessful. It reached double platnium in Australia, Gold certification in New zealand and is in the top ten in the UK sales chart and 30 in the UK singles chart.

Stills From black Eyed Peas New Music Video "I Gotta Feeling" With Glow In The Dark Paint!

I really like this music video as it has so many aspects to it to show the process of there party. These stills are just one aspect of the music video that we definately want to incorporate into our music video. Also the glow in the dark paint is an on going theme within the music video as it is shown in the beginning of the video as everyone is getting ready a man on a bike who has the paint dripping out from his bike as if to lead to the party. We love the idea of glow in the dark paint and we think that this scene to the video is filmed perfectly it looks really effective because the paint stands out amazingly. We want to take this aspect and turn it into our idea by having it on just a few of the dancers as they do there dance it will make it stand out alot more and as the paint is far too expensive for everyone to wear so we thought that instead we could cleverly use it to gain alot more impact when it is shown up in our music video.

Other Dance Videos!

I chose these music videos because they are incredible dance videos and as videos we can learn a lot of things from them. Like for instance Run DMC'S dance video doesn't even have them in it so it just shows that dance videos do have completely different rules to other videos. Not only do the artists not have to appear in the video but its more like its showing you into there way of doing things. It also shows us that as a music video it does not have to be performed on a swanky video set it can just be under a bridge somewhere or on treadmills. Also there dance video as do the others show a high level of imagination.

The next video is of this massive online dance battle that maybe many might have seen as it was all over YouTube and it has the singer and actress Miley Cyrus and the creators of the hit dance movie Step Up. As Miley, friends and famous dancers battle it out against the step up crew and all of their famous dancers. The reason why i chose this video was that to me when i first saw it the dancing just sort of caught my breath as it was so amazing, this video is just of the ACDC (Adam Chu's Dance Crew) and they amazingly choreographed it to such a high standard of perfection, that i was left stunned. I am aware that we could never get our dance video up to such a high standard as that video but it gave me alot of ideas of the sort of amazing free styling that will give our music video some justice.

The last music video is of "ok go's" "here it goes again". This is a very famous music video, due to their dancing on treadmills. Also it has been said that from March 2010 it has been viewed nearly 50 million times. With such a basic dance routine, catchy song and the treadmills have really made this a well known video world-wide.We liked the orginality of this music video and most of all we wanted the same fun and free feeling for our own music video. I think this video inspired us as the orginality and the quirky aspects to the music video make it so memorable. This is what we want from our music video a simple song that can be made quirky from our camera work and effects.

Overall all music videos will help us in the process of making our own music video. As they all give us plenty of ideas and methods that are and simple and little, but will add to the concept of our music video.

Our Ideas For Our Music Video!

For our music video we will be attempting another rave but this time on a bigger scale. We are able to get dancers who will be dancing in glow in the dark clothes, along with fellow pupils who will hopefully attend the fake rave which will be after school for 2 hours. Also this time our artist will be a DJ.
It will hopefully be in MR. Elmsley's drama hall. Also we are able to get help from people from our school to help us out with lights and music. We will hopefully be able to use many glowsticks and glow in the dark paint for this rave.
